Oh the joy of the holiday season. Families are visiting, children are happier and yes, nannies are anxiously waiting for their holiday bonuses (You know I'm right)..lol
Lots of families will be traveling around the holidays and that's absolutely beautiful. However, why would a family think that they should not pay a nanny when they travel? I love to be objective but I can't fathom what a decent answer to this question would be!
Now, if the family travels for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks that's perfectly fine because they're doing what works for them. But, the nanny must be paid if you expect her to return to the job. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not suggestion that you should pay the occasional babysitter who comes in on date-nights and emergency care calls. What I'm talking about is compensation for a nanny who works with you throughout the year.
Everything we do in life we should ask ourselves how would we feel if we had the same thing done to us? Now, I'm reflecting and I pray that some are able to also reflect knowing that so many of these workers live from paycheck to paycheck. #mynannycircle #consideration #respectfornannyemployersandnannies ... We are going to host a nanny family and nanny workshop/forum in late January. I will be announcing the date later this week.
This is an excellent time to connect with nanny families and ask questions. We will have lots of well-informed professionals who will serve as our resource individuals.
Additionally I'm inviting expectant parents who maybe looking for a nanny to this event because this would be a wonderful opportunity to connect with nannies who maybe looking for jobs.
Our goal is to encourage effective dialogue in order for us to see necessary improvements in many different aspects of the nanny profession. Moreover, it's imperative that we remain professional, objective and diplomatic for us to get the best out of this forum. #nannyeducation ... See MoreSee Less
